Knock Knock! Are you really present in this place shown in your IP address?
You might or might not be there.
And how is that possible? Magic! Lol… No.
Thanks to the Virtual Private Network Software that helps you hide your IP address online, naming of which there is a VPN Software that you can use for certain applications.
May I present – SaferVPN.
But is it really that “safer” compared to all other VPNs? I came across a lot of such software that claims to be the best but when I run the tests on them, they turn out to be not as per the expectations they have built.
I did the same for this VPN software. I ran some of my regular tests to check out whether this VPN goes according to its name or not.
Let’s go through them individually and see what the results were…
Performance (Speedtest)
This test will determine how fast is SaferVPN. Will it work well for me and you? Let’s find out.
But before that, you need to know why do I carry out the speed test.
Speedtest checks the full capacity of your internet connection and thus its performance. In other words, you can know how fast can a website load on your computer or how fast can you upload or download files
And so, I will show you the test results for the speed tests.
Below is the result of the normal speed at my home network:
Now I switched to server at Japan. The speed result that I found was just amazing:
Did you see this? Almost the same speed as that of my home network.
But, we can’t rely on a single network right?
So, I tried Finland.
That didn’t go well I suppose. The speed reduced by 6 times.
But know this also, some of the server locations were not working. I will discuss that later in this article.
Before that, let’s see the results for two more tests: Yes, torrent and Netflix.
Starting with Netflix first, I kept it connected to the Japanese server and it worked just fine. I was able to access all the animes, shows and movies on Japan’s Netflix.
No complaints about Netflix. Now, I decided to move to torrent and test it.
I downloaded a torrent file for a book called Rage by Jonathan Maberry. And it worked well with this too.
So summing up the test results, it connects well with the Japanese server but speed reduces a lot when connected to Finland, you can stream Netflix well and even torrent works fine with this VPN.
Now let us see how simple it is to set up and use it…
Ease of Use
In this section, I will tell you whether it is easy or difficult to set up this software as well as how easily it use it to connect to remotely located servers and mask your IP address.
Just like every other VPN, this is how SaferVPN works.
Moving to the first part of “ease of use” – the setup.
Create an account and make the payment. After this, you will get this to this box:
Once you click on the Download Now button, you will be redirected to a page where there will be a list of available options. You may select any one (or more) from it.
After downloading it from the website, it is now time to run the setup.
After you click on “Run”, the above box will appear where you need to click on next and then you will need to accept the licence agreement.
Now run the installation and in just a few seconds, you are good to go.
Login to with the details and then from the main screen of the SaferVPN, you can click on the “location” symbol to look for the available locations.
Now comes the next part which is – how easy it is to use.
Select the location which you want to connect to and then click on connect. But there is a flaw here, it really takes a very long time to load.
Anyways, you can also click on the 3 bars on the top corner of the SaferVPN screen and enter the settings.
You can change it according to your preference and even turn on the kill switch. Kill Switch is necessary because it protects your IP from getting exposed when there is a connection failure between the server and VPN.
So, what I can conclude in this section is – the steps to set up with this software are very easy and simple. It takes a long time to connect with a remote server. And the good thing is, the software is equipped with a Kill Switch.
Let’s see what price you will have to pay for this easy-to-setup VPN.
Pricing & Features
This section is something that I look for in the first place.
And do you know something, many of the online/offline marketers use pricing psychology in order to increase their sales.
Talking of the price, what does SaferVPN have to offer?
Okay. So you get four alternatives for a single plan but different durations. This chart shows a significant drop in the price with an increase in the duration of the plan.
You can save a lot if you opt for a longer period. But that depends upon the requirement of this VPN software. $2.50/month for your online safety is not much to give, right?
Plus, it offers you a 30-day money-back guarantee. So, if you are not satisfied with the services offered by SaferVPN or face any other issues, you can cancel your subscription and get your account refunded in full.
But, do you know you can get 24 hours of free usage with no boundaries and access to all the features?
Let me give you a magical link that you won’t find on the homepage of SaferVPN.
Here it is – a trial period of 24 hours for free.
So try it for 24 hours without paying or entering your card details.
You might also want to know where the servers are located worldwide.
Let me tell you that there are more than 700 VPN servers in more than 34 countries all around the globe.
It doesn’t even have a restriction on the switching part i.e. you can switch the server locations anytime with no limitations.
Anyways, let us now take a look at the features included in the VPN software.
No Logging Policy: Doesn’t keep the records of your online activities.
Thus your IP address, DNS queries, browsing history, etc. are not stored by this VPN Software.
Multiple VPN Protocols: It offers OpenVPN, IKEv2, L2TP/IPSec and PPTP.
VPN protocols are a set of instructions that are followed by the software to communicate data between computers and VPN servers. You can select the protocols manually or let your computer do it automatically.
No Bandwidth or Download Caps: It doesn’t restrict the usage of your data, neither for streaming nor for downloading.
There are certain factors that affect the speed of VPN like the speed of your ISP connection, location of the server, the number of people using the same VPN server and protocol that you have selected.
While selecting a VPN, make sure you check the upload and download speed as well as latency.
Thus, at the end of this section, we come to know that you will have to pay less amount for a longer duration and the features have a solution to all the major problems.

Let us see how the customer support of this website is…
Customer Support
Till now in all the sections above, what you saw only showed you the bright side of the VPN.
Just like every coin has two sides, even this VPN has some of the negative sides.
When I first launched this setup and started with the VPN, I tried to connect it to the server of Argentina and Germany.
It didn’t establish a connection to the Germany server but when I connected to Argentina’s server, I was disappointed.
An ad that’s because it showed the same IP address as that of my home address.
So, I contacted the support team via the Live Chat option.
I told her what problem I was facing as it showed me connected to Argentina’s server but the IP remained unchanged.
Well, I don’t get it why the location needs to be turned off? Still, I followed her step and tried to re-establish the connection but got the same result in the end.
My IP didn’t change.
She gave me a link to check the details of the IP address once I followed the steps. But that didn’t help either.
I generally use IP address checking service to check and confirm if my location is correct after I connect to a remote server using VPN.
Then the other text popped up that linked me to the support section of the website that had all the guides and tutorials on how to get started with this VPN.
Anyways, that didn’t help but then I connected to other servers and then it worked fine.
So the thing is, it sometimes won’t connect it to a remote server and even the connection process takes a longer time.
The customer support team is available 24 x 7 and they really try to help from their side and make sure the problems of their customers are resolved. So, I found the customer support to be spontaneous (but not helpful).
Now let’s look at the security features that SaferVPN has to offer.
Security & Privacy
Your security and privacy online are important. No one likes their IP to be exposed to hackers or ISPs.
VPNs are for the same reason because this is what they offer:
Your device is protected and you are allowed to surf the internet without getting tracked by ISPs, Hackers or the Government.
Talking about privacy, what SaferVPN has to promise is that they won’t share your data with third party services.
This means they keep your data encrypted and do not share your information with anyone and thus maintain your online privacy.
They have a no-log policy which means that they do not store or keep a record of your IP address, DNS queries, metadata or your browsing and download history.
They also encrypt your data and change the encryption key every 60 minutes. So, this would enhance the security and help you stay protected. You see, even your VPN is protected.
Thus, as per the name “SaferVPN”, it offers security by changing encryption key every 60 minutes and not keeping records of any data or browsing the history of users.
Pros:
- Works well with Netflix and Torrent
- Offers access to all the features even in 24 hours free trial
- Offers 24 x 7 Customer support via Live chat
- Consists of a VPN Kill Switch that stops the IP address from being exposed to ISPs or Hackers even during connection outage
- Changes the encryption key of your connection every 60 minutes
Cons:
- It takes a longer time to connect to any server
- Some of the server locations do not work properly and do not help you hide your IP address
- The speed when connected to some of the servers reduces by 6 times
Conclusion: Do I recommend SaferVPN?
Do you know, more than 1/4th population over the internet was using VPN in 2018? The use of VPNs is rising and will continue to rise as more and more people are now concerned about their privacy.
The main motive behind using VPNs is to mask the IP address of our device.
So, let me sum up what I came to know so far about SaferVPN.
Speed test result states that it works fine when connected to Japan, whereas the speed reduces by 6 times when connected to some of the servers, plus the Netflix and torrent both are accessible.
The steps to set up the SaferVPN are easy and you would also not face any difficulty while using this software.
The pricing is nominal and even they offer a 30-day money-back guarantee, but if you are not sure whether you want to use it or not, you can try it for 24 hours and if you are satisfied with the use, you might continue.
Good thing is, it has a kill switch and the encryption key is changed every 60 minutes. But on the other hand, the speed to connect to a server is slow and some of the locations might now work properly.
So do I recommend it? Why not. And if you don’t like it, you can always cancel it within 30 days of the purchase or just try it for 24 hours and then decide.
